With the installation of new contactless security systems, you might think that Disneyland is steps away from reopening. The new security systems by Evolv are currently being used by Walt Disney World and will increase the capacity coming in the gate while reducing contact and protecting security officers.
However, we might be looking at a November, a December or even a next year reopening as we are waiting — yes, still waiting — for the county to drop into the “minimal” risk level, which could take another three to six weeks at the earliest. And even then, the guidelines want theme parks to only open at 25% capacity, and only allowing neighboring residents within a 120-mile radius to visit the park. LAME. It’s believed that these will be the guidelines until the pandemic is over, but a lot remains to be seen.
