Disneyland Blues...

Disneyland is in constant motion, which means that the park is in constant risk of breaking down. Sometimes those in charge of the budget don't always make the best choices for the safety and satisfaction of the Guests. We can see a little bit of that happening again, as the prices for the park goes up and coincidently, the functionality of the park goes down.

Obviously, Tarzan's Treehouse is down for the count, awaiting a serious upgrade and retheme. Matterhorn Bobsleds are down for general yearly maintenance. However, there are other disappointing bumbles going on around the park:

Poor Indy, after opening in 1995, the attraction had a wow factor that couldn't be beat. From the well-designed queue to the storyline for the adventure, it was thrilling and well worth the long wait. The cars were state-of-the-art and made the journey that much more exciting. The first of the effects, once you have buckled into the jeep shaped ride vehicle is the Chamber of Destiny. This was setting the stage for the rest of the attraction as there were three doors that each present you with a gift. The Fountain of Youth would offer "timeless youth and beauty". The Chamber of Earthly Riches would offer "the treasure of Mara". The final option was the Observatory of the Future, which allowed you to glimpse into that future. All of this is well and good, but there was obviously only one hallway to pass through to get to the main attraction. So, Disney concocted a moving wall to further immerse Guests in this experience. However, the wall might have been ahead of its time because it hasn't been working in several years. Guests continue to proceed through the middle door every time. Two other elements that have been broken more recently include the snake animatronic and the boulder scene. This attraction is scheduled for a refurbishment on November 14th.

On its a small work, you know the point is to feel connected with the children of the world. However, what Mr. Walter Elias Disney had in mind for his some 300 audio-animatronic dolls was partially not working or completely non-functional dolls, and some dancing in the pitch darkness. It's definitely not a world of laughter with the way the functionality is going. Hopefully the refurbishment for the holiday will provide solutions to most of these issues. That refurbishment will run from October 24th to November 11th.

The long awaited and highly sought after E-ticket attraction, Rise of the Resistance, in Galaxy's Edge, has been a blessing and a curse. While the attraction is the first of its kind here is Disneyland, it has lent itself some challenges. Between Kylo Ren malfunctions, transport ships and droids, there is always something to go wrong.

Splash Mountain is in its Golden Years, about to be shut down and transformed into Tiana's Bayou Adventure. For years, Splash Mountain has been struggling with its animatronics since its infancy due to the fact that the animatronics were recycled from the moonlighted America Sings attraction that opened in 1974. With more and more problems occurring, it is probably for the best that they will soon have a massive overhaul. Tiana's Bayou Adventure is set to open in late 2024.
