Updates and Revival

Hey guys and gals, its been a while since I have been able to be up and running so LOTS of changes have occurred in the last year.

Disneyland Resort!

It's Fall, y'all!! Fall means harvest colors, cooler weather and of course pumpkins! Halloween Time at the Disney Resorts is in FULL swing. Oogie Boogie Bash, the sold-out special ticket event, has been sold out since the tickets started selling! The same tried, true and beloved events are available to those lucky ticket holders: trick or treating, Halloween Parade, character meet and greets and costumed character and locations! Both Disneyland and DCA are dressed to the nines and the characters are in their spooky best. Pumpkins decorate the resort and the Resort prepares for the Holiday overlays about to be set into motion. Admittedly the heat has been a major downside to the park's attendance and entertainment but the evening hours have been seeing to keeping the guests happy.

Coming Soon! Disney MagicBands have long been used at the Florida park from everything to park tickets, hotel keys and much more. Disneyland will be adopting this process in the coming months. At Disney World, the Cast Members can help up to 4 guests at a time, versus the single guest at Disneyland, fumbling with their tickets or digital devices. The MagicBand at Disneyland will also be used for Lighting Lanes and Fast Passes, plus much more! Disney has also announced that the Holidays will bring discounted hotel rates for select dates between October 20th and December 22nd. Regular ticketed guests can save up to 15% on Grand Californian and Disneyland Hotels, as well as up to 10% on the Paradise Pier Hotel. Magic Keyholders will have up to 20% and 15%, respectively. Book before December 5th to lock in your discount!

Brand new models of the updated soon-to-be Pixar Place Hotel, including Finding Nemo splash pads!

runDisney is coming back to Disneyland in 2024! Races they have had in the past are:

Tinkerbell Half Marathon Weekend, including Tinkerbell 10K, Pixie Dust Challenge and runDisney Kids Races

Star Wars Half Marathon - The Light Side Weekend, including Rebel Challenge, Star Wars 5K and 10K, and Kids Races.

No word on what races can be expected to return.

Disneyland!

Eudora's Chic Boutique featuring Tiana's Gourmet Secrets has opened in Disneyland's New Orleans Square. Featuring Mardi Gras and unique art items and cookbooks, you can hear Tiana and her mother, Eudora, having conversations back and forth. Although it is a small store in a crowded neighborhood, it is definitely worth a peek inside! Tiana's Bayou Adventure has been developed and we are getting excited to see what we have coming in 2024!

Another shopping update, a set of registers has been removed in the Emporium and replaced with a mobile checkout kiosk. This helps cut down on store congestion.

Disney's California Adventure

Anyone wanting to visit San Fransokyo will soon have the chance! Pacific Wharf will be reimagined after the Big Hero 6 movie. Restaurants will be rethemed in the stylization of the alternate-reality city, but the major change will be the bridge becoming a smaller version of the Golden Gate bridge.

Also arriving on the scene in DCA's Avengers Campus is a new meet and greet with an old and familiar faces. The Hulk in his new Quantum suit! This is a limited time experience with a vague and mysterious schedule so keep your eye on Avengers Campus. Another thing to look forward to is the coming attraction of King Thanos's Battle Experience.

D23 Announcements!

Updates are happening at every park! New lands, new attractions, even a new Cruise Liner and port-of-call private island. Integrating characters from Arandelle, Zootopia and Moana's adventure to save Te Fiti, the parks continue to hold with Walt Disney's classic idea "Keep Moving Forward." Adventure is out there!

Disney+ is coming out with the good stuff! I cannot wait to see the new movies comin' out! Disenchanted coming November 24th, Hocus Pocus 2 coming September 30th, The Little Mermaid(live-action), a Lion King prequel... the list goes on! Pixar is releasing an Inside Out 2, and a short-form series about Zootopia coming soon! Pixar's Elemental, Marvel film releases and shows, new LucasFilm Productions... and who isn't excited for another Indiana Jones, coming June 30, 2023?? Disney+ is producing shows faster than we can watch them!

Walt Disney World!

Plans have been put forward for the largest Magic Kingdom expansion ever... new lands based on Coco, Encanto and Villians as well as expansions in Animal Kingdom for Zootopia and Moana. EPCOT is also getting a reimagining, starting with a beautiful new tribute to the man behind the mouse. The Dreamer Statue as well as the brand-new nighttime spectacular coming to the World Showcase Lagoon are part of the gear up for the Disney100 celebrations in late 2023. EPCOT will also be featuring a 16-foot statue of Te Fiti in the new Moana: Journey of Water section. Finally, the Tron Lightcycle attraction has an opening date! Josh D'Amaro himself test drove the attraction and has promised a Spring of 2023 opening!

Hurricane Ian has been taking its toll in the Most Magical Place on Earth. The Category 4 hurricane made landfall today and all parks have been closed today and tomorrow. Most resorts have guests sheltering in place and all Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser voyages have been cancelled between yesterday(Tuesday) and tomorrow(Thursday). Several resorts have closed completely through Friday, including Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Copper Creek Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Treehouse Villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Space, and Bungalows at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Special ticketed events have also been suspended in light of the storm. Transportation has also halted for safety reasons.

Obviously there is much more to see, do and hear about around the parks and Disney Company but TTFN, ta-ta for now. Thanks so much for staying tuned and we'll see you in the parks!
