Disney is famous for having a few best kept secrets for families of kids big and small. Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa is no different! When you think of the rustic appearance and the amenities like the spa services and the Napa Rose restaurant, the last thing you might think is that this is the place to stay with children. In fact, this hotel has just as many amenities for the kiddos!
There are two free challenges available at the Guest Services desk: a scavenger hunt and a trivia quiz. The Grand Quest scavenger hunt is designed for kids aged 3 to 12 and features hidden challenges around the resort. Adult supervision is required but the kids will have a blast! The Trivia Challenge is designed for family and will test your Disney knowledge. The best part about these challenges is when you bring the pages back to Guest Services after completion and you can earn prizes!!
The Napa Rose and the Storyteller Cafe both offer breakfast character greetings. The Napa Rose Princess Breakfast runs from 8am to noon(so make your reservations in advance!) and features a three-course meal as well as one on one time with some of your favorite Disney heroines! The fine dining restaurant will cost you a pretty penny, $125 a head to be be exact, but you will make memories to last forever! The Storyteller Cafe offers a Mickey-themed Breakfast and Brunch Buffett options. You will be treated to a culinary cabaret while Mickey and his pals entertain you with the latest tales of adventure! This will run between $35 and $60 a person but it will be a unique experience you won’t soon forget!
And if Mama wants to escape for a brief moment and enjoy the crisp morning air, the Grand Californian offers a Get Up and Go Power Walk, starting promptly at 6am. This is for those of us that can sustain a 15-minute mile, and is only for ages 14 and older(14-17 must be accompanied by an adult). There are also spa services and the normal hotel amenities like a pool and the grand lobby with huge fireplace and comfortable chairs.
