Governor Ron DeSantis has called for the transition into Phase 3 reopening, which would allow Walt Disney World to return to "normal operations with limited social distancing protocols." This is exciting news for Floridians and park guests alike. However, Floridian Mayor Jerry Demings has responded with a statement in today's press conference, establishing that there will be no change to the policy on face masks. Since the risk of COVID-19 remains present wherever people are gathered, the mayor has made this decision with the best interests of the people in mind. The governor has also encouraged increased capacity in the parks. While there has been a surge in the crowds at Walt Disney World parks, there was nothing officially stated. The news of the move into Phase 3 is a delight for waiting ears, as the success at Walt Disney World could very well decide whether Disneyland will be following in suite. Our fingers and toes are crossed and we watch in anticipation for the results.
