As the Christmas season finally rings in, we have the latest in Disney news.
At Disneyland, the opening date of Buena Vista Street has been announced! Don your favorite Mickey gear and head over to Disney’s California Adventure on November 19th to enjoy some of your favorite food and shopping options down Buena Vista Street. Disneyland has also, regrettably, cancelled all reservations through November 21, confirming that there will not be a Thanksgiving at Disneyland this year. Here’s hoping that we aren’t going to have to wait until next summer, or later, for reopening.
Larger California theme parks that have been shuttered for over 7 months have considered taking legal action against the state of California to be allowed to reopen in the second least restrictive tier instead of the least restrictive, citing that they have put alternative measures to work to provide the safety and protection of their employees and their guest. Not only their business but the surrounding businesses and the cities in which they reside have all been losing money and the economy is suffering.
At Disney World, things are getting close to normal as various characters have been apppearing for socially distanced meet and greets. You can meet with Mickey and Friends, the Disney Princesses and Mupoet characters in appropriate socially distanced areas. It is Christmas time in the Magic Kingdom! See your favorite characters dressed in their holiday best and the park decorated in beautiful Christmas decor. Christmas music is playing down Main Street USA, getting everyone into the holiday spirit. In addition to this, Hollywood Tower Hotel is getting a holiday projection overlay, transforming it into a Muppet gingerbread house, Toy Story Toy hotel, a snowy corner of Arendelle, and a “Christmas Carol” village scene.
Also breaking news at the Magic Kingdom: Disney World is banning eatjng or drinking in attraction queues, citing that masks need to be worn at all times, covering both mouth and nose.
The new Disney + schedule is now available for November. We have the hit shows: Mandolorian, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, The Right Stuff and Weird but True. We also have new movies coming to the streaming service: A Christmas Carol(2009), Mr Magic, LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, Planes and Planes: Fire and Rescue, Black Beauty(2020), Alexander and the Terrible No Good Very Bad Day, and Once Upon A Time In Wonderland.
